On to the Master of the Planning. A lot was made of the improvements in performance of Master Planning, especially as it relates to the cloud and Azure. Azure will be using Azure SQL and it has a specific set of limitations including a timeout period. The tech time solved this by sending "keep alive thread" every few minutes.
Quick GUI Digression... You can now search all of AX menus from one search bar. BAM!
Significant improvements were made to the pre-processing of data in the ReqTrans world. Have you been to the ReqTrans world? A nice place to visit not necessarily wanting to live there. By bundling tasks into task groups allowed the team to take what once might have been a 500K task process down to 100K or less.
Then they layered in Demand Filtering. This looks only at items needed to plan and direct demand in the processing phase.
Once again we heard a lot about telemetry, our automated communication, that is a part of the new AX toolbox. The technical team can learn from problem areas and continue to improve performance.
